it seems like I just finished running my marathons...but it's been 6 months and we're back at that time of year.
I re-submitted my name for the St. George, Utah marathon and...I got in!
My friend Amy also got in, and we're really closely matched pace wise. Amy is actually faster than I am but I do better with the distances (at least until lately).
So we're going to be training together AND I finally have someone to run a marathon with!
We're going to be using the Run Less, Run Faster training program, and it's rather intense. I'm going to be VERY familar with Speed Repeats by the end of the 16 weeks. Tempo runs will be my BFF.
Run Less, Run Faster calls for 3 days of running and 2 days of cross training. I was a little worried about a marathon program that only had me running 3 days a week, but after reading the schedule- yeah, not so much anymore.
We start our training officially next Monday. After that no more excuses or fudging our miles and paces.
