Yay! for not wussing out.

Lately I've been talking about the importance of a good running buddy because I've been really whinny lately.

My energy level has been really low and I basically just haven't "wanted" to go on my scheduled runs.

I've been perfectly able physically but my head just hasn't been in the game.

Luckily I haven't been able to muster up the weeniness to cancel on Amy:)

Tonight I felt super tired but decided to go running anyway....and had a great run!

My scheduled workout called for 1 easy mile, 2 Short Tempo Miles, 1 Easy Mile, 2 Short Tempo Miles.

Amy and I started our run early so we could do our easy mile and still have 2 miles of at least semi flat ground. Because we're sneaky like that:)

My run was:
Mile 1: It was actually .66 because Amy and I were getting cold. 9:33 per mile

Mile: 2-3 My goal was 7:15 per mile and I ran it 7:12, 7:11

Easy Mile: 10:24 Up Deschutes PKWY which is pretty much a mile uphill.

Mile 5-6: My goal was 7:15 per mile and I ran it 7:20, 7:09

Cool Down Mile: 9:07 per mile

I also think I might marry whomever cleaned the leaves off Capital Blvd allowing me to see where I was putting my feet.

I've been having trouble making my goal paces on Wednesday and I was pretty sure it was due to the fact that when you're running in the dark over wet leaves and can't see if you're about to kill yourself- it's hard to worry about pace:)

In other news I really want to win Amy's Shabby Apple Dress Giveaway. I looked really good in that dress at my cousins wedding and want one of my own.

It's easy to run when it's light outside and sunny and warm. It's hard to run when it's dark and freezing and feels like bedtime. And having my running buddy helps me go anyway. Running buddies are the best!

22 days until the days start getting longer again!

Sometimes I think my blog roll doesn't update when you update! I just read your last four posts, so I have a few comments...

1. I have been feeling the same way lately! I blame the holidays. It sounds like more fun to hang out in front of my Christmas tree than it does to go for a run.

2. I ran by myself this week and ditched my partner and I'm so glad I did. It helped me beat the blues a bit because I was able to see what I was capable of again. Running in the 9's the past few weeks has had me all wigged out.

3. Way to go on your Oly Trot!!!! You did great- that's such a good time. I have a hard time with short races because they make me want to die. Sure glad you didn't puke!

4. That is probably the best running picture I have ever seen. You should frame it.
