Christmsa Eve Virtual 5k!

Even though, as I heard my alarm clock go off at 7:30m on Christmas Eve and wondered...WHY!?...

I got up and got my running clothes on and managed to be at Marathon Park by 8am for Amy & Amylee's Virtual 5k.

Martinho, Heather and Amy ran it together so it wasn't so much a virtual for us, although it's a lot harder to race when there's not really anyone to "race" against.

Well technically I could pretend to be racing Amy since she was in front of me but since she's almost always nearly a quarter of a mile ahead it doesn't really feel like I've got a chance:) Martinho could have run faster but he stuck with me since he knew I didn't have my Garmin.

I had planned on using my Garmin so I had made sure to plan ahead and charge it the night before. Somehow it turned on during the night and the battery was DEAD in the morning.

But I managed to pull in a 22:17 which isn't a PR and really not that great when you think that I did 22:19 on a much hillier course last week. OR it's great because I managed to do it after racing last week:)

Regardless of my time I had a blast and think it was a fantastic idea and want to do more of them!

Now I just need to plan out my race calendar for 2012...no pressure:)

Still such a good time! You and Amy are both racing fools- now you need to rest and recover. Martinho is a good friend to pace you.

Seriously, you need a new Garmin or something! It seems like it's always dead. Does the battery not last very long?

You did a much better job at getting race pace than I did! Wow, I just had nothing in the tank!

Martinho is so nice to pace you, he's the best kind of running buddy.

Make sure you include the Color Run in your planning. I'm not joking about that one.

Also, I agree with Amylee. You need a new Garmin. ;)
