Santa Runs Tacoma 5k!

I'm going running in the morning!

For the last two months Amy and I have been using the Run Less, Run Faster 5k training program in an effort to get a new 5k PR.

She's been doing really well in both her training and in all the races she's been doing these last weeks.

I'll be honest, 5k's are probably my least favorite distance. It's short enough that you have to really put on the speed, (but still be careful to not start too fast!) but short enough that the littlest thing can screw it up.

I like the longer distances where I can settle in and enjoy the run...like the Marathon:)

I'm hopping for a new PR tomorrow, although I'm not sure I'll get one. The last 5k I ran in 22:06 and it was on a flat course, while tomorrow's course has a slight hill at the start.

A lot of running has to do with being O.K with being uncomfortable and during a 5k I get a little more uncomfortable than I like.

It's kind of funny to me that I find 3.1 miles more uncomfortable than 26.2.

I agree with you, the longer the race the more I enjoy it! Good luck!

man, do I agree! I'll take a marathon over a 5k any day! Hope the race was great.

Haha! I'm gonna have to agree with you on the fact that it is "funny" (or crazy!) that you're more comfortable doing a marathon over a 5k. I'm still scared out of my pants of marathons! :)

But crazy is what makes us runners cool. I hope you got a sick pr on Saturday!!
